There once was a girl with a desire to improve her life.
Debt from student loans took on a mind of its own, a fierce Godzilla that threatened to tear down her dreams of finishing her BA in Psychology, travel and study web design. National unemployment soared, keeping her and millions of other young people firmly entrenched in the grasp of joblessness, temporary employment and working poverty. Careless health habits placed her 10 lbs heavier than really, she wanted to be. Horrible money management devoured her income, with cash slipping through her fingers faster than you could say "out of control" and disappearing forever into the proverbial hole in her pocket, leaving nothing to show and no savings stashed safely away. And as for her career path? Well that's a whole other entry!
So did she lock herself in her parent's shed, cry and stuff herself with the double chocolate ice cream when she could afford it once a month on welfare day? Oh no, definitely not!
She looked at her options, set some goals and made a plan. She built a budget, tried out some tantalizingly thrifty practices, happily adopted healthier habits and stayed positive . With intensions, timelines and stepping stones carving out a path to her successes, she focused on the future, stayed on track and enjoyed a brilliant and exciting life.
